BMS Theater on a Global Stage

(Bastrop)--Bastrop Middle School theater students will make history when they perform We Will Rock You The Musical at the Jerry Fay Wilhelm Performing Arts Center. This will mark the first time a middle school has performed the musical on any stage in the world since it typically is performed by high school students and young adults. A total of 75 students are involved in the historic production, which opens Friday.

Of the numerous nominations we received for the 212° Award and the Innovation in Teaching! Award, eight recipients were chosen. Mr. Murray surprised these staff recently (see Featured Video). Bastrop Co Elections publishes sample ballots

Sample Ballots for the upcoming election are available. Click below to see the ballot from Precinct 1003. Note that the two measures from Bastrop ISD are on the back page of the ballot near the bottom. Voters are able to vote "Straight Party," but this selection will not impact other measures on the ballot. Voters wishing to vote for the Bastrop ISD measures would need to also make selections on that location on the ballot. Colorado River Collegiate Academy earns all possible distinctions

(Bastrop) – The Texas Education Agency released Academic Distinction designations to its 1,200 districts and charter schools across the state. Of the more than 8,600 campuses statewide, Colorado River Collegiate Academy (CRCA) in Bastrop ISD was one of only 400 that earned all possible Academic Distinctions. Though 94% of schools in the state earned the rating of Met Standard, less than 5% of campuses earned all possible Academic Distinctions in addition. CRCA is an early college high school in its third year.
