Hello, my name is Megan Brandon and I am honored to be the Social Studies Research Methods teacher for Colorado River Collegiate Academy. I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Administration and a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology. After graduation, I worked as a Psychometrist in Forensic Psychiatry at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. I administered neuropsychological evaluations to worker's comp patients and went into the jails and prisons testing the inmates for their legal cases. I quit working full time once I had children and began teaching Psychology at the community college level. I taught at Motlow State Community College and Volunteer State Community College in Tennessee and a 2011 move to TX allowed me to teach at San Jacinto College in Houston. We moved to Bastrop in the summer of 2013 for my husband's engineering career and I taught Psychology at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Austin. I teach SSRM for CRCA and am adjunct faculty for Austin Community College, teaching the EDUC 1300 course required for the Associate's degree. I firmly believe students should become involved in their school and community, so I am the Student Council adviser and Speak Up! Speak Out! teacher liaison. I have been married for 12 years and have 2 beautiful daughters, ages 8 and 5. I love spending time outdoors with my family and reading. I am looking forward to another successful year at CRCA, preparing students for their college career.
