I have been a member of the Bastrop ISD family since 1999. I initially worked for the Special Education department as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology. In 2001, I began working as a counselor in Cedar Creek Intermediate/Middle School. I have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Spanish and a master’s degree in School Psychology. I also completed post-graduate work to become a Licensed Professional Counselor and Counselor Supervisor. Currently, I am enrolled in the University of Southern Mississippi’s Master of Arts in the Teaching of Languages program. I was excited to find a master’s program that was directly related to my love for the Spanish language and specifically with sharing this love in the way of teaching it to others. I am a lifelong learner of the Spanish language and culture, and have enjoyed traveling to various Spanish speaking countries, including Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Mexico, The Dominican Republic, Spain, and Costa Rica. I hope to inspire a deeper understanding and interest in Spanish language and culture to students at CRCA as well as Genesis!
